Privacy

What we hold, why we hold it, and how to be rid of it.

What we hold

  • An account, if you make one: a sign-in identity, a display name, and optionally a country and an avatar.
  • Your games: the moves, the result, and the rating change. These are kept because a game without its history is not a game you can review.
  • Things you write: chat in a game, comments, and messages.

What we do not hold

We do not sell anything, and there is nothing to sell: no advertising profile, no third-party tracking of what you do here, and no attempt to work out who you are beyond the account you chose to make.

Playing without an account

Local games, games against the computer, the rules, the history and the daily puzzle all work signed out. A guest identity is created so you can play online without giving us an email; it is a real identity but a disposable one, and you can turn it into a full account later without losing your games.

Getting rid of it

Your settings will export everything we hold, and delete your account. Deleting anonymises your profile rather than erasing your opponents' game histories, which are theirs as much as yours; the account itself can never sign in again.
